The court upheld the decision on the fine for 2.6 million against TikTok
A court in Moscow upheld the decision to punish the video hosting TikTok with a fine of 2.6 million rubles for not removing content prohibited in Russia. On Tuesday, June 29, the press service of the court writes.
Tik-Tok moderators do not always correctly cope with the sorting of published videos, which entails the appearance of provocative and prohibited content on the platform
The theoretical establishment of such regulation of Tik-Tok in Russia is quite possible. The corresponding regulatory framework has been developed and adopted. Taking into account the experience of Western and European countries, it becomes clear that the internal regulation established by the company within the framework of the user agreement is not enough. Recently, Tik-Tok has been facing a large number of claims and lawsuits related primarily to copyright infringement of works. Whether additional sanctions will be imposed against infringers of intellectual rights through Tik-Tok in Russia is not yet clear.

But the restriction of content produced by users in the future is possible in order to ensure the internal security of the state. Content published on Tik-Tok must comply with Russian legislation, moral and moral principles of society, not be aimed at violating or infringing on human and civil rights and freedoms. Tik-Tok moderators do not always correctly cope with the sorting of published videos, which entails the appearance of provocative and prohibited content on the platform. It is with the aim of eliminating such content and restricting access to it by the Tik-Tok audience and it is possible to establish additional regulation in Russia. However, it is worth noting that such regulation should not affect freedom of speech and turn into attempts to censor user content.

It is also worth noting that the activities of the social network TikTok are, in a sense, already regulated by the Russian authorities. So, at the request of the Russian authorities, the social network regularly deletes various videos and blocks user accounts.
